Chad Hord Finishes 3rd in Pro Light at Perris Auto Speedway on Kumho Tires
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., May 29, 2009—Chad Hord traveled a long way from Michigan to be right at home on the podium in the Pro Light class of the Traxxas TORC Series in Perris, CA. The Pro Light race kicked off the night in grand fashion in front of enthusiastic crowd after a meet and greet on the front straight got the fans up close to their favorite drivers.
With everyone settled into seats, it was time to get down to business. The start had a lot of beating and banging but in the end nothing could stop Chad Hord from putting down the power to his Kumho Tires. The number 9 slowly worked his way to the front of the Pro Light class and at the halfway point found himself in 4th place behind Casey Currie. With the laps counting down Chad made a move on Currie and focused on holding position for a podium spot. With pressure from behind he was able to maintain 3rd until the checkered flag, securing another trophy for the team and the second podium in 3 races for Kumho Tires in the Pro Light class.
Currently Hord is 5th in points with only 7 points separating him from leader Jeff Kincaid. The team is looking for another solid finish to wrap up the weekend so they can head to more familiar tracks such as Crandon and Bark River for the next rounds of the TORC Series schedule.
