Kumho Tires on top after season opener in PRO 2 class of Traxxas TORC Series
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., May 29, 2009—After two rounds of the Traxxas TORC Series, Kumho Tires and Ricky Johnson in the Barlow Motorsports Red Bull Bosch Team look to defend the points lead in the Pro 2 class. With a margin of only four points separating Johnson and second place contender Scott Taylor, it’s going to be some hard racing in Perris, Ca.
Scott Douglas will be leading the Kumho team in the PRO 4 class after a solid performance that got him on the podium for a second place finish. The Douglas Motorsports team sits 3rd in the standings just 16 points behind leader Rick Huseman, and only 2 points behind runner-up Kyle Leduc. Steve Barlow who is currently 5th in points after a hard fought race at Texas Motor Speedway in the PRO 4 class is prepared to step up and contend for a win in the series premier class against some of the best in the business.
In the Pro Light class, Chad Hord would like to better his 3rd place finish in Texas and work his way into the top three in points after contact with another truck took him out of contention late in the race in round two.
The Traxxas TORC Series will be racing in Perris, CA, Friday and Saturday, May 29, and 30. The race will air on ABC Sunday, June 7th at 5 pm EST.
