Look at the sidewall of your tire

A

Asymmertric - The tire will have "Outside" printed on one side of the tire and "Inside" printed on the other side of the tire. A properly mounted tire will show the "Outside" side when it has been mounted on the vehicle. An asymmetric tire will have differences in tread pattern design between the inside and outside of the tire tread area, which necessitates proper mounting.

Directional - A directional tire will have an arrow and the word "Rotation," indicating the direction the arrow should roll when the vehicle is moving forward. If the arrow does not roll forward when the vehicle is moving forward, the tire has been mounted improperly. Most directional tires appear to have a "V" design to the tread.

Symmetric - Symmetrical tires can be installed in either direction, as each side is the same.

Road hazard damage is any outside influence that induces damage to the tire including but, not limited to cuts, snags, bruises, impact breaks, bulges, punctures, stone drills, chips, and scales, fire, theft, or collision. Road hazard damage is not covered by the Kumho Tires standard warranty on original equipment, replacement passenger and light truck tires.

Replace the tire immediately. If the tire has road hazard coverage and is within 2/32" of the original tread depth, it's a free replacement. To get more info about road hazard coverage, click here to download the warranty brochure PDF. Without qualifying for road hazard coverage, it must be verified the bulge is due to defect in order to receive pro-rated credit based on the unused portion of the tire.

Water should not be allowed to collect inside them. Tires should be placed away from electric generators/motors and sources of heat such as hot pipes. Storage surfaces should be clean and free of grease, gasoline or other substances which can deteriorate the rubber.

M+S (Mud + Snow) is a marking on the sidewall of a tire based on the geometry of the tire lugs compared to the amount of void area in the tread pattern. Traction in the snow and ice depends on more than just the geometry of the tread pattern so the tire industry has adopted an additional marking called the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS) to differentiate true winter & all-weather rated products from the all-season products that only bear the M+S marking. The 3PMS icon is depicted as a snowflake inside the outline of a mountain. M+S rated tires are the base minimum for mild winter conditions, but the 3PMS is the necessary upgrade for more severe winter weather conditions.

The correct tire pressure will be shown in one of three places a placard on the driver's side door jamb, a placard inside the glove box or listed in the owner's manual. Tire pressure specifications are meant for when the tire is cold; therefore, if the vehicle has been driven or the tire has been sitting in direct sunlight, the tire pressure may read higher than the manufacturer's specification and should not be adjusted until the tire is cold.

Tire should be rotated in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation. If no recommendation is shown in the owner's manual, tires should be rotated every 5,000 miles.

A

This needs to be determined immediately by getting the tires inspected by an authorized Kumho dealer (preferably the original selling dealer). If the irregular wear damage is due to inflation problems or mechanical wear such as alignment, the warranty is void. If by chance the bad wear is due to a workmanship or material defect, this can be confirmed by a tire technician and a claim can be filed to compensate you toward the unused portion of the tire.

Kumho Tire recommends rotating your tires every 5000-7500 miles to keep consistent tread depths on all 4 tires. In the event a tire fails prematurely, we recommend reaching out to your local dealership for each vehicles specifications.

If your tires make the car pull left or right, vibrate at certain speeds, won't balance or make entirely too much noise, it's possible a tire may be out-of-round. Getting the problem identified and the tire replaced quickly is imperative because of the limited amount of time allowed to return tires of an out-of-round condition (must be within 2/32" of the original tread depth).
